Welcome to Collected Elsewhere.
A curated collection of books, narrative travel features, and the stories gathered in between.
Hi, I’m Malia!
When I was nine years old, two very important things happened: I inherited my grandfather’s vintage typewriter, and I traveled to Paris for the first time. Ever since, I’ve been collecting stories, some from the pages of books, others from the places I’ve traveled.
Collected Elsewhere is where those stories meet.
Here you’ll find book recommendations, literary reflections, narrative travel features, and guides inspired by the books I carry with me, and the places I’ve explored.
A few things about me:
• I’m a freelance writer whose work has appeared in Interior Design Magazine.
• My favorite novel is Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver.
• My travel bucket list includes an African safari, the Camino de Santiago, and skiing in Japan.
• I’m currently working on the very first draft of my first novel.
If you’re interested in books, writing, and the art of travel, I’d love to have you here!
Welcome to the collection.
